FACTORY OR USER FITTED OPTIONS FOR PANEL INDICATORS

3000 : Lineariser - square-root, log, s-curve, v-notch, or 16-point

Option 3000 is a factory-fitted firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option accurately linearises the display of various non-linear signals. Examples include Square Root extraction for flow applications, S-curve for horizontal tanks, Spheres, Log, and V-notch weir. The user has the option of toggling the lineariser feature 'ON' or 'OFF' from the front panel push-buttons. The type of linearisation required needs to be specified at the time of ordering and is not user selectable. Where output options are fitted, the output will follow the linearised display when the lineariser feature is 'ON'. All terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

For Load Cell Model 5004 and Universal Programmable Model 5001, the 3000 lineariser option is User programmable. A 16-point straight-line approximation lineariser is provided for non-linear input signals. Any number of points between 2 and 16 may be entered. The greater the number of points, the greater the accuracy of the linearisation. Every actual display point has a corresponding linearised display point. Full details are shown in the Option 3000 lineariser section of the operating manuals for the relevant models.

3001-M : 2 electromechanical setpoint alarms

Option 3001-M is a factory or user fitted hardware and firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides 2 Set Points with Electromechanical Relays fitted on an option board in the upper slot of the housing at terminals 13 to 18. Both normally open and normally closed contacts are provided for these Form C relays which are rated at 5A, 250VAC or 30VDC, non-inductive. Visual LED alarm indication is provided on the front faceplate of the panel meter.

Option 3001-M is a 'plug-and-play' option so that fitting the hardware also enables the relevant programming menu. This menu allows for user programmable set-points, normally open or normally closed function, a hysteresis dead-band and a time-delay for each relay. Terminations for relays AL1 and AL2 and the programmable functions are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3001-P : 2 solid-state setpoint alarms

Option 3001-P is a factory-fitted hardware and firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides 2 Set Points with Form A Solid-State Relays rated at 0.5V, 400V AC or DC, on the main PCB at terminals 10, 11 and 12. For Models 4004 and 5004 only, if serial communication options are also fitted, then these relays are on an option board in the upper slot of the housing at terminals 13, 14, 15 and 16.

The firmware menu for Option 3001-P allows for user programmable set-points, normally open or normally closed function, a hysteresis dead-band and a time-delay for each of these 2 relays. Terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3002 : RS485 Serial Communications for panel indicators

Option 3002 is a factory fitted hardware and firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides RS485 serial communications with user selectable ASCIIbus or DIGIbus protocols. DIGIbus is the default protocol which is used for the calibration and configuration of the instruments and whenever the instrument is connected to a master-slave system. DIGIbus protocol is used in complex bus systems while ASCIIbus is simpler to use and easily interfaces to third party systems. It is a 7-bit ASCII based protocol, essentially designed for one-way communications from the instrument to a computer.

By selecting address '00', the instrument may be set to transmit data on demand by momentarily pressing the 'menu' key or by transmitting a byte of any ASCII character to the indicator. This mode is useful for interfacing to printers. By selecting any address between '01' and '99', the indicator continuously transmits data at approximately 5 times a second. The serial output follows the display reading. If, for example, the peak-hold option has been fitted and is activated, then the communications output also transmits the peak-hold value.

The ASCIIbus data format output string and settings for indicators is:

3003 : 0/4-20mA or 0-10V programmable analogue output

Option 3003 is a factory or user fitted hardware and firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides analogue retransmission which is user selectable and programmable for 0-20mA, 4-20mA or 0-10V output. The analogue output is programmable independently of the display range and has a resolution of 12 bits. Option 3003 is non-isolated but may be fitted together with Option 3006 to provide isolated analogue retransmission.

When factory fitted as a single option, the analogue output is available at terminals 5 and 6 on the lower row of housing terminals. When factory fitted with 3006 or other options, or user fitted as a 'plug-and-play' option, the output is available at terminals 25, 26 and 27 on the upper row of option terminals. In the case of Load Cell Models 4004 and 5004 only, the terminations for isolated and non-isolated analogue outputs are always provided on the upper row of terminals at 25, 26 and 27. All terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3004-M : 1 electromechanical setpoint alarm

Option 3004-M is a factory or user fitted hardware and firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides 1 Set Point with an Electromechanical Relay fitted on an option board in the upper slot of the housing at terminals 13 to 15. Option 3004-P is a factory-fitted hardware and firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides 1 Set Point with a Form A Solid-State Relay rated at 0.5A, 400V AC or DC, on the main PCB at terminals 10 and 11. For Models 4004 and 5004 only, if serial communication options are also fitted, then this relay is on an option board in the upper slot of the housing at terminals 13 and 14.

3006 : Isolated mA or V retransmission, added to option 3003

Option 3006 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. When ordered with output options 3002 (RS485), 3003 (analogue), or 3013 (RS232), this option provides isolation of 1500V between input and output signals.

In the case of Analogue output, isolated Voltage Retransmission is provided on the upper row of terminals at 26 (+) and 27 (-) and Current Retransmission at terminals at 25 (+) and 27 (-). For Serial output, isolated RS232 is provided on the upper row of terminals at 21 (Gnd), 22 (Rx) and 23 (Tx) and RS485 at terminals at 22 (D+) and 27 (D-). All terminations are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3008 : Isolated wide range 10 to 30 VDC auxiliary power supply

Option 3008 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides 3-way galvanic isolation between input, output and power from a wide ranging 8 to 30V DC auxiliary power supply. In the case of Load Cell indicators this option also provides excitation for up to 4 load cells with 350Ω bridges. Over-voltage and over-current protection is included with this hardware module. The terminations are at N(+) and L(-) as shown in the data sheets and operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3010 : 95-265 V AC/DC isolated auxiliary power supply

Option 3010 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides 3-way galvanic isolation between input, output and power from a wide ranging 95 to 265V AC or DC auxiliary power supply. In the case of Load Cell Indicator Model 4004 this option also provides excitation for up to four load cells with 350 ohm bridges. Option 3010 is standard on Load Cell Indicator Model 5004. Over-voltage and over-current protection is included with this hardware module. The terminations are at N(+) and L(-) as shown in the data sheets and operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3011 : Ohms or Tap input for Models 4001 or 5001

Option 3011 is a factory-fitted hardware and firmware option for Models 4001 or 5001 Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides resistance input measurement and transformer tap position display.

Terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3012 : Peak Hold with Run / Hold function (0.5 second)

Option 3012 holds and displays the maximum or minimum value of an input signal. The option is activated in the programming menu Option ('Opt') section, with the selection of whether 'Hold' should be 'ON' or 'OFF' or Valley ('valy') should be 'ON' or 'OFF'. To display the peak or valley value, press the 'up' arrow for 3 seconds. To show a normal process display value, press the 'side' arrow key for 3 seconds. To reset the peak or valley hold value, press the 'star' key for 3 seconds, or use an external potential free contact. This options has a 0.5 second response time. If an output option is fitted then the output will follow the peak or valley hold value.

Option 3012 cannot be used in conjunction with auto tare / auto zero Option 3014. External contact terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3013 : RS-232 serial communications, ASCII and DIGIbus

Option 3013 is a factory fitted hardware and firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides RS232 serial communications with user selectable ASCIIbus or DIGIbus protocols. DIGIbus is the default protocol which is used for the calibration and configuration of the instruments and whenever the instrument is connected to a master-slave system. 3014 : Auto Zero / Auto Tare with On / Off toggle function

Option 3014 allows a user to zero the display at any time and continue measurement from that zero point. This option is toggled 'ON' or 'OFF' in the 'Opt' section of the programming menu. Pressing the 'star' enter key for 3 seconds will zero the display at any time. The display can also be zeroed via an external potential free contact. If an output option is fitted then the output will follow the displayed value.

In the case of Load Cell Indicator Models 4004 and 5004, Option 3014 is included as a standard feature and does not need to be ordered as an optional extra.

Option 3014 cannot be used in conjunction with peak hold Option 3012. This option will also not be available if either ‘d.tot’ (digital totaliser) or ‘p.int’ (process integrator) are selected in the input menu. External contact terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3017-M : 3 electromechanical setpoint alarms

Option 3017-M is a 'plug-and-play' option so that fitting the hardware also enables the relevant firmware programming menu. 3019 : Green LED displays in place of standard RED LED's

Option 3019 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option replaces the standard red LED displays and face-plate window with the optional green LED displays and face-plate window.

3020 : AlGaAs Ultra Bright sunlight-viewable display

Option 3020 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option replaces the standard red LED displays with the optional AlGaAs (Aluminum Gallium Arsenide) displays. These ultra bright red LED displays have a wavelength which is viewable in high ambient light and in sunlight.

3021 : AC Mains Frequency display (eg, 50.00 Hz)

Option 3021 is a factory fitted hardware option for Model 4001 Digital Indicators as shown in the data sheet. This option provides measurement and display of the AC mains power supply frequency to 2 decimal places within the 0.00 to 99.99 Hz range. Inputs are at the voltage input terminals 1 (neutral) and 2 (alive) with these connections being shown in the operating manual for this model.

3022 : Vertical Bar Graph and digits for 4-digit models

Option 3022 is a factory fitted hardware and firmware option for 4-digit Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets, except for Model 4003. This option provides a 26-point vertical ultra-bright red LED bar graph display with a scale of 0 to 100% of the process value and includes a 4-digit display (-1999 to 9999) with 7.6mm high ultra-bright red LED's which may be programmed to any range in engineering units.

This option may be fitted to any indicator with a 4001, 4004, 4006, 4011 or 4015 model designation. The firmware allows for 2 separate menus to program the bar graph display and the digital display as detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3023 : Pulse Output relay for totaliser indicators

Option 3023 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators with totalising features as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides a relay contact closure whenever the totalising display changes by one count. The solid-state relay alarm number 1 is used for this purpose and this relay will therefore not function as an alarm setpoint. The maximum output rate is two pulses per second so the totalising display factor must be configured to change by no more than two counts per second. Full details for programming this option are shown in the operating manuals for the applicable totaliser, integrator, flow, rate, total and weighing instruments.

3024 : Manual Setpoint Station, add to mA, V or serial output 

Option 3024 is a factory fitted hardware and firmware option for Model 4001 and 5001 Digital Indicators. This option provides an analogue ouput from an instrument without having any actual input to the indicator. The operator may select a value in percent or engineering units to set valves or vents. By selecting, for example, 4-20mA output and setting 50% on the display, the instrument will continuously output 12mA until the display is changed by the operator. Volts, mA's or Serial outputs may be used with this manual setpoint station. Option 3024 may also be switched off so that the indicator may be used with a sensor or other input and retransmit the normal process value. Terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manual for the relevant indicator models.

3026 : Display Hold to freeze the display (not for -T models)

Option 3026 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This is a no-charge option which allows the user to freeze the display via an external potential-free contact. Closing the switch freezes the current display. This option is not available with the Analogue Totaliser Integrator Models 5001-T and 8001-T. Display Hold is a standard feature of the universal Frequency, Speed, Period, Count, Rate, Totaliser and Event Timer Models 5012 and 5012-C. Terminations are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3028 : Non-isolated wide range 10 to 30 VDC auxiliary supply

Option 3028 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides non-isolated power from a wide ranging 8 to 30V DC auxiliary power supply. Over-voltage and over-current protection is included with this hardware module. Apart from use with 24V DC supplies in industrial panels, Option 3028 may also be used in solar and vehicle battery powered applications. The terminations are at N(+) and L(-) as shown in the data sheets and operating manuals of the various indicator models.

3029 : Time and Date stamp for Model 5004 with serial output

Option 3029 is a factory fitted hardware and firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option allows the user to time and date stamp the display value serial output, either by momentarily pressing the ‘menu’ key or by transmitting a byte (any ASCII character) to the unit. This option is also useful to interface to serial printers. The Data Protocol Format is:

: _ = space

- The time is only available in 24 hour mode as HH:MM:SS
- The decimal point is in the same position as the display decimal point

ACC06 : Wall mount pre-wired IP66 panel meter housing

ACC06 is an IP66 polycarbonate weatherproof housing suitable for Instrotech 48 x 96mm panel mount indicators.  The printed circuit board back-plane has sockets to connect with a standard 1/8-DIN panel meter.  The PCB tracks take the connectors down to the screw terminal rails which are marked with the same connector numbers that appear on the back of Instrotech instruments. 

The ACC06 housing size is 110 wide x 180 high x 165mm deep.  The kit is supplied complete with a chassis plate and standoff pillars and 2 x IP67 compression glands with space for more to be fitted if required.  The ACC06 has an in-line fuse for the power supply connection and meets EMC and low voltage directives, plus a 2-year guarantee.
