Option 3000 is a factory-fitted firmware option for Digital Indicators as shown in the various model data sheets. This option accurately linearises the display of various non-linear signals. Examples include Square Root extraction for flow applications, S-curve for horizontal tanks, Spheres, Log, and V-notch weir. The user has the option of toggling the lineariser feature 'ON' or 'OFF' from the front panel push-buttons. The type of linearisation required needs to be specified at the time of ordering and is not user selectable. Where output options are fitted, the output will follow the linearised display when the lineariser feature is 'ON'. All terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manuals of the various indicator models.
For Load Cell Model 5004 and Universal Programmable Model 5001, the 3000 lineariser option is User programmable. This option provides RS485 serial communications with user selectable ASCIIbus or DIGIbus protocols. DIGIbus is the default protocol which is used for the calibration and configuration of the instruments and whenever the instrument is connected to a master-slave system. DIGIbus protocol is used in complex bus systems while ASCIIbus is simpler to use and easily interfaces to third party systems. It is a 7-bit ASCII based protocol, essentially designed for one-way communications from the instrument to a computer.
By selecting address '00', the instrument may be set to transmit data on demand by momentarily pressing the 'menu' key or by transmitting a byte of any ASCII character to the indicator. This mode is useful for interfacing to printers. By selecting any address between '01' and '99', the indicator continuously transmits data at approximately 5 times a second. The serial output follows the display reading. If, for example, the peak-hold option has been fitted and is activated, then the communications output also transmits the peak-hold value.

This option provides analogue retransmission which is user selectable and programmable for 0-20mA, 4-20mA or 0-10V output. The analogue output is programmable independently of the display range and has a resolution of 12 bits. Option 3003 is non-isolated but may be fitted together with Option 3006 to provide isolated analogue retransmission.
When factory fitted as a single option, the analogue output is available at terminals 5 and 6 on the lower row of housing terminals. When factory fitted with 3006 or other options, or user fitted as a 'plug-and-play' option, the output is available at terminals 25, 26 and 27 on the upper row of option terminals. Option 3014 allows a user to zero the display at any time and continue measurement from that zero point. This option is toggled 'ON' or 'OFF' in the 'Opt' section of the programming menu. Pressing the 'star' enter key for 3 seconds will zero the display at any time. The display can also be zeroed via an external potential free contact. If an output option is fitted then the output will follow the displayed value.
In the case of Load Cell Indicator Models 4004 and 5004, Option 3014 is included as a standard feature and does not need to be ordered as an optional extra.
Option 3014 cannot be used in conjunction with peak hold Option 3012. Option 3023 is a factory fitted hardware option for Digital Indicators with totalising features as shown in the various model data sheets. This option provides a relay contact closure whenever the totalising display changes by one count. The solid-state relay alarm number 1 is used for this purpose and this relay will therefore not function as an alarm setpoint. The maximum output rate is two pulses per second so the totalising display factor must be configured to change by no more than two counts per second. Full details for programming this option are shown in the operating manuals for the applicable totaliser, integrator, flow, rate, total and weighing instruments.

Option 3024 is a factory fitted hardware and firmware option for Model 4001 and 5001 Digital Indicators. This option provides an analogue output from an instrument without having any actual input to the indicator. The operator may select a value in percent or engineering units to set valves or vents. By selecting, for example, 4-20mA output and setting 50% on the display, the instrument will continuously output 12mA until the display is changed by the operator. Volts, mA's or Serial outputs may be used with this manual setpoint station. Option 3024 may also be switched off so that the indicator may be used with a sensor or other input and retransmit the normal process value. Terminations and programmable functions are detailed in the operating manual for the relevant indicator models.

This is a no-charge option which allows the user to freeze the display via an external potential-free contact. Closing the switch freezes the current display. This option is not available with the Analogue Totaliser Integrator Models 5001-T and 8001-T. Display Hold is a standard feature of the universal Frequency, Speed, Period, Count, Rate, Totaliser and Event Timer Models 5012 and 5012-C. This option provides non-isolated power from a wide ranging 8 to 30V DC auxiliary power supply. Over-voltage and over-current protection is included with this hardware module.
